It’s amazing to know when your favorite actor is not just an actor, but more than that.

Anthony Montgomery, one of my favorite actors, is also a trained singer, dancer, and comedian, and has been singing for a long time.

The versatile actor was born in Indianapolis, and is the grandson of famous Jazz musician, Wes Montgomery. So music making is in your genes, Anthony.

Nice!

He was introduced to singing quite early in his life, and used to sing in a local choir group. As he grew up, he left singing for a while and started Hip Hop dancing. You will be amazed to know that the man mastered the art of dancing too!

Anthony, you are a house of talent!

He graduated from the Ball State University in Performance Theatre and Drama. After graduation, Anthony moved his base to Chicago and joined A-Sharp as a singer. But soon, he left it for standup comedy. He vowed to become a famous comedian and worked really hard.

In 1996, he packed his bags and went to California, where his first assignment was for a Tommy Hilfiger campaign as a model. Soon, he started getting numerous offers from TV production houses.

The biggest break that came in his life was in the form of Star Trek: Enterprise, and there is no denying the fact that fans, across the globe, really love to watch the show, Star Trek online.

He never left singing, and started hip hop again. He produced his first EP with four songs; the album was titled as What You Know About…, and was a huge success. In November 2008, he came out with his first album, A.T.

Well, that’s not all; Anthony is also a student of martial arts and studied Koga Ryu Ninjutsu from a martial arts school.

What an inspiration this man is!

The people, who brought the trek world of year 2151 to our living rooms, are surely men of great imagination and vision. These futurologists let us witness the escapades of the first spacecraft, Warp 5 Starship, which could travel faster than the speed of light. The creative thinkers let us meet the courageous captain of the ship and his teammates, whose mission was to protect the Earth from upheaval.

These prophets, who created yet another milestone in the history of science fiction and Star Trek, were Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. They were the creators of Star trek: Enterprise, which was on televisions for four seasons after Star Trek: Voyager.

The series ended in 2005 and left the viewers without their daily feed of Star Trek adventures. But the addicts never failed to watch the most cherished show Star Trek online.

Well, here is a piece of good news for the fans of Brannon Braga’s creations.

Nah! Star trek isn’t going to come back, but yes, the great screenwriter has joined the team of new television series Terra Nova, which has only recently started airing.

The series is a science fiction drama, and starts when the Earth and its inhabitants are at the brink of extinction owing to ever-increasing problems of population and pollution. This is the year 2149. Subsequently, the plot, with the help of time machine, transports us to the prehistoric age of Dinosaurs, around 85 million years ago.

The story depicts the struggle of Shannon family that becomes denizen of Terra Nova, the very first human settlement.

Brannon revealed in his interview that the series is not only about dinosaurs, but more about people. And he illustrated the series as a mix of genres like sci-fi, family drama, and adventure.

The series is a big-ticket not only for its cost, but because of names like Brannon and Spielberg attached to it. I surely am going to give it a try, will you?

Leonard Nimoy, who has truly been the face of the popular TV series Star Trek since the past 45 years, is all set to step down from his glorious acting career.

Leonard is 80 years old now, and his health doesn’t permit him to undertake a lot of physical stress, such as that associated with shooting in front of the camera or for that matter, even in making public appearances at premieres and festivals.

Leonard started his career in 1965, when he played the character of The Cage, who was a dejected Star Trek pilot. Later, he went on to play the iconic role of Mr. Spock. Since then, there has been no looking back for this talented man.

Leonard became the most popular character on Star Trek. His signature ‘V’ sign became the symbol flaunted by every fan of the show!

Leonard Nimoy has also been a great enthusiast about attending festivals and Star Trek Conventions. He never misses the opportunity to meet his ardent fans and interact with them one to one. It is sad news indeed for all Nimoy fans that he will not be attending any more such conventions.

Speaking about Mr. Spock, he is half-human and half-Vulcan. In the initial series, he was a science officer and a first officer. In the later series, he became the commanding officer and served as a guide to the other crew members. He was a key member of the Star Trek plot, without whom the show would be incomplete.

We really wish Leonard Nimoy never had to retire…but we have to respect his decision as we all care for his health a lot as well, don’t we?

So, just in case you’d like to relive your favorite Star Trek moments or watch the original Mr. Spock in action, you can always catch Star Trek episodes online.

Trust me…you don’t want to miss this Emmy award winning performance by Leonard Nimoy!

The Star Trek series still continues to weave nostalgia amongst its actors, creators and audiences.

Dominic Keating, the actor who rose to fame with his role on Star Trek Enterprise has a casting tale of his own; one that can leave the actor and his fans soaked in nostalgia.

Even in the yesteryears, it was important for an actor to win a role of his choice at the auditions and Dominic Keating had opinions that were not very different.

As the actor recalls, he read about the Star Trek: Voyager auditions and made it a point to hit them with all the confidence.

After walking out of the auditions, sure of his chances to get the role of his choice in the movie, the actor never ever got to hear another word from the Star Trek crew.

It left him disappointed and with the feeling that maybe he had just over-rated himself and maybe he was not capable enough for a show as big as Star Trek.

The actor decided to move on with life as he signed in for the role of evil Mallos from the supernatural series, The ‘Immortal.’

What the actor was not aware of was that Startrek: Voyager’s co-creator/executive producer, Rick Berman already had a fourth series ready and had planned out a bigger role for Keating in it.

In a year’s time, Keating got a call from his manager informing him to audition for the role of Malcom Reed in Star Trek: Enterprise.

Malcom was a shy and conventional Englishman, which was quite a change after his character of the maverick devil in The Immortal and that of a bisexual in a film for the Showtime cable network. It’s good to see another talented actor being able to download diversity into his career.

Guys, that’s how Star Trek: Enterprise got Keating as a part of it…

The man is an evergreen enigma, and has been hogging the limelight ever since donning the famous costume of the Commanding Officer of the USS Enterprise and even today, more than 40 years after that day, he is still going strong.

That man is Captain William of Shatnerville and he is once again under the spotlight, this time at the 2011 Comic Con at San Diego, for a little something that William Shatner likes to call as Shatnerpalooza!

Shatner what?

Yes people, stand up and take notice of another William Shatner special – The Captains – an in-depth tale of the people who have graced the role of Captain James T. Kirk, featuring actors from the time of Shatner himself right down to the stint of handsome Chris Pine.

The documentary is an ode to the role of Captain Kirk and the kind of impact the role has had on the various generations since its inception. And it has surprise appearances by Scott Bakula, Chris Pine, Kate Mulgrew and Patrick Stewart, which is a very welcome added bonus.

William Shatner, in the documentary talks about the stigma surrounding the role of Kirk. Yes people, the role was once known as the Kiss of Death to any actor’s professional career, but thanks to Shatner, this popular idea was proved wrong, very wrong if I may add.

And you can only guess how the audiences at the San Diego Comic Con would’ve reacted to the opening of the film made by one of their idols, who’s among the most famous actors of all times.

Shatner and his lovely wife, Elizabeth, were reportedly thrilled on seeing the number of people who had turned up for the screening.

As expected, Shatnerpalooza was a big success! Stating precisely, it was a 48-hour long marathon of William Shatner’s television shows and movies at the Comic Con, for all the fans to watch.

The man and the role shall forever remain etched in our minds! Let’s embark on another Shatnerpalooza by catching all those memorable Star Trek episodes online.

Well, if this question was thrown at Sophie, then the original series would have won hands down.

As a loyal fan of the Star Trek franchise, I have seen all the movies and the numerous attempts to revive the TV series, but nothing holds a candle to the notorious pair – Captain Kirk and Spock or should I just say, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

But the latest movie, the one directed by JJ Abrams; that was pretty good, and it was good, because none of the actors were trying to ape the performances and styles of Shatner and Nimoy anymore; they performed pretty well within themselves.

If you don’t trust the view of the author, why don’t you ask Dr. Sheldon Cooper and his friend, Dr. Leonard Hofstadter, both of whom happen to be big, big fans of this adventurous story of Captain Kirk and his Vulcan friend, Spock.

Oh yes, there is something about those pointy eyebrows and those pointy ears, and that Vulcan salute that still makes Spock a popular figure among the today’s viewers.

As simple as it may sound, William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy were simply fantastic in the series that ran in the later part of the 1960s and the number of movies that followed over the years.

It’s hard for any loyal fan to choose between the movies and series, as both of them had some of the brilliant characters ever written.

It would not be wrong to compare Captain Kirk and Spock to characters like Gandalf from the Lord of The Rings, or characters like Hamlet and Othello; such was the proficiency in the way they were written and portrayed.

And frankly speaking, no other character can have such impacts on the viewers, so much so that viewers still prefer to download, or at least catch the heyday exploits of Kirk and Spock in Star Trek.

Leonard Nimoy a.k.a. Spock has come forward with a request to spread peace among the Israelis and the Palestinians.

Isn’t that inspiring? Certainly it is! With this development, he has proved that he is not just a good actor, but a responsible citizen too!

Well, this appeal shows some light at the end of the tunnel. He has supported the ‘Two State Theory’ to reignite peace and harmony between both the nations.

With the help of Americans for Peace Now, the actor has come out in support of a two-state-approach. He took this initiative after seeing the tussled relationship in the region. He wants to see each nation in peace, and a mutual division is the only solution in this case if you follow his words.

In fact, Israel’s nationalist Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu also sees the future of the country in this solution. Reportedly, the Star Trek actor doesn’t find any harm in the division of Jerusalem, if it brings in peace for Israelis as well as the Palestinians.

And it is not just Leonard, who wants this division; a majority of people desire the same. Perhaps, it is the need of the hour!

‘The Two State Theory’ is quite clear, going by which, the areas occupied by Palestine in Jerusalem would become the capitol of its occupants. In a similar way, Israelis will be benefitted too.

To give a clear idea of the situation, the actor took an instance from the Star Trek series. He picked the famous episode ‘Let That Be Your Last Battlefield’, to suggest that if people of both the sides continue like this, nothing can save them.

Instead of fighting with each other, they should take a firm step to bring in peace.

If you watch Star Trek series, you must have noticed that most of its installments are truly inspiring and message-laden. You can catch all of them online to take a look in the other side of the world.

Folks, are you ready for something different?

A change from the lame music on love, betrayal and broken hearts?

Is that a YES?

I can’t make it out from all the noise.

Ok, I’ll take it as a yes!

Then gear up, folks; because Captain Kirk is back with his brand new album.

By Captain Kirk, I mean William Shatner, who played the iconic role of James T Kirk in the cult series, Star Trek.

Shatner, who entered the music industry with his 1968 album, ‘The Transformed Man’, is known for his unusual parodied approach to music.

But because of some divine luck, his music strikes a chord with a large chunk of people. Critics always had a special liking for his works and never let an opportunity pass to ridicule his music sense.

Well, the critics can say what they want to say, the public loves Shatner and that’s what matters.

The track which propelled him into the music industry was Sonny & Cher’s “Mr. Tambourine Man.”

After that, he never turned around and went on to write his name among the bests of the music industry. Since the past forty years, he has been gratifying the palates of music lovers, who crave for that one thing, that is truly different.

Sources reveal that his upcoming cover album, ‘Searching For Major Tom’ is inspired from space elements (like we could not have guessed that). The album boasts of a large number of heavy metal tracks, as well as songs from iconic names like U2, Frank Sinatra, Queen and Pink Floyd.

Shatner goes way back in the world of flashing lights and has proven his mettle as an actor, musician, author, producer and director.

Man, how can one achieve so much in just a single lifetime?

Well, maybe being a space man helps.

His latest offering will surely create ripples in the music world, while Captain Kirk will grin from his space craft.

Yeah, you read it right! And this opportunity has been given to all and sundry, by famous sci-fi series Star Trek.

In Spock’s character, the most fascinating thing is his ears. Perhaps this is the only reason due to which the creators have put Spock’s ears on grand auction.

Can you guess what is so special about Spock’s ears?

Well, if not, then it’s time to get acquainted with them!

Take a look!

Can you imagine any human’s face without ears? One simply cannot. In fact, the ears play an essential role, when it comes to presenting a Vulcan-Human character like Spock. What say you?

You might have seen twisted and pointed ears in several thriller dramas, but this legendary character’s ears are simply the best.

The creators of the show decided to put Spock’s ears on sale, because Leonard Nimoy, the man who played Spock in the original series, has turned 80 years old. They wanted to surprise Leonard and I’m sure they did.

As Spock, Leonard ruled the show for a really long time, and in this duration, he not only got the viewers’ love, but critics’ acclamation too!

Before I move away from the really interesting topic, I want to tell you that according to the speculations, the bid for the ears is expected to rise up to $1,000 dollars. Well, it’s truly amazing!

Star Trek’s auction block is like a treasure, which is filled with countless iconic items. I think it is essential to preserve those items, which have given life to the show.

The creators have preserved these ears with great care, and according to the facts, they have been preserved for more than 3 decades.

I’m sure these will tempt those, who possess a desire to look like Spock. Above all, it can also become useful for those creators, who really want to give birth to Spock-like characters!

Any which ways, it has a legacy attached to it. Stay put, to know how much the ears fetch!

The evergreen Actor, the irresistible thespian, William Shatner is at it again. He has been known by many names throughout his filming career. But his most famous moniker, unarguably, has to be Captain Kirk from the immortal Star Trek original series. I wonder what Sheriff T.J Hooker, or the eccentric Denny Crane from the hit TV series Boston Legal, would have to say about this particular observation.

Anyway, of late, we’ve been seeing William in a previously unseen avatar, playing father to a 28 year old writer, who is jobless and staying with his father. Yes, I am talking about the comical hit TV series, $#*! My Dad Says.

This show, with this catchy title, is the brainchild of the American author, Justin Halpern. This series is based on the famous Twitter feed maintained by Justin Halpern, which is a collection of comments made by Justin’s father. Justin has maintained a journal of the witty and spicy comments made by his father ever since Justin was a kid. This Twitter feed has become a sensation and the subsequent book release has caught the literary world by a storm.

The creative team which was assembled to produce the show included Justin Halpern as the Executive Producer. Since the beginning, there was little doubt over who should play the Father. The producers had William in their mind and soon after, they had their man. William was reportedly smitten by the character of Dr. Edison Milford “Ed” Goodson III. It’s pretty obvious it wasn’t the name that caught his fancy.

The crispy dialogues written by Justin and his team when combined with William Shatner’s persona and his acting skills take this show to an entirely new level of satire and deadpan humor. This $#*! is indeed worth the time!
